On The Lot is Fox's show created and produced by Steven Spielberg and Mark Burnett. The premier airs on Tuesday, May 22 9/8c and Thursday, May 24 9/8c on FOX.

The shows premise: Aspiring filmmakers can take the first step toward fulfilling their dreams of becoming a Hollywood director by taking part in FOX's new reality competition series ON THE LOT. Video submissions and application forms are no longer being accepted at www thelot.com. Applicants may still submit a self-directed short film, up to five minutes in length, that may be shown on the www.the lot com, but won't be used until a future date.

Airing this spring on FOX, this unscripted series will feature a cast of undiscovered filmmakers who will compete to win the support of the show's viewers, as their fate will be decided by a weekly audience vote. The show will air two nights weekly, the American Idol format. A "Film Premier" episode will be aired one night followed by a half-hour "Box Office" results show the next.

Every week the filmmakers will produce short films from a pre-selected genre ranging from thrillers to comedies. They will have invaluable resources like writers, cast and crew and possibly celebrities during their production.

Judges include: actress, author and screenwriter Carrie Fisher (Star Wars, Postcards from the Edge), directors and producers Brett Ratner (Rush Hour 3, X-Men 3), Gary Marshall (Georgia Rule, Princess Diaries, Pretty Woman) and Jon Avnet (Risky Business, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Starter Wife).
